We have flocks of Canadian Geese that live (or at a minimum, visit on a daily basis) here in the golf course. I can't get even remotely close before they start ducking in the other direction. They even sense when I step outside my front door with the 300 lens on the camera and start moving away. Great shot!
Thank You Nicki. There is a river very near me, a huge, wide, slow moving river that behaves more like a lake, this is where I found them. There are a few.... 20 or less that seem to stay in the area all the time, but yesterday there were hundreds of them. I wish I had taken a wide angle picture to show their volume. The geese that stay all the time are accustomed to being fed bread and such so they will come close but the others are not friendly. This was one of the not friendly and I shot it with my Canon 70-300. It is cropped a little. They did move out a little from the shore upon my arrival even with me being very slow and careful.
I know they are pests. I know they are messy. I still think they are beautiful. Nice shot!
