Christmas Ornaments!

# 347 of 365 for Thursday December 13, 2012

I went out with two friends yesterday, to take pictures.  We visited a beautiful old church and discovered they allowed tours and allowed people to take pictures inside.  The organist even played some Christmas music for us on the old pipe organ.  They were beautifully decorated for Christmas too.  The green you see to the left of the tree is from the light coming through the stained glass.

# 346 of 365 for Wednesday, Dec 12, 2012

This little cutie's mother lets me baby sit her sometimes.  I am trying to teach her to like having her picture taken.  I work with her a little bit each time I have her.  I think this is about my 3rd attempt :)  If I ask her if she wants her picture taken of course she says no.  So, I got the little tea party set up on the backdrop and just waited for her to notice.  Pretty soon she ask to get up on the table and play with the tea pot and cup.  These are just mismatched pieces that I wouldn't be upset if they got chipped or broken.  At two years of age her coordination doesn't make it easy for her to "pour" tea without bumping the pot and cup together.

She poured the imaginary tea, and took the lid off the pot, and inspected it, giving me a few cute smiles and I snapped away.  Pretty soon she tired of it and we moved on to something else.  I thought I would try again in a little bit but she wanted her pretty dress off and her jammies on, so  that is what we did.

Later when I looked at these pictures I had 8 that were useable.  I was pretty happy with that.  I checked the exif data and discovered we took pictures for two minutes and thirtyseven seconds!  That was as long as her attention span could stand :)  But I wanted to be sure and quit without making her dislike having her picture taken..... I wanted it to be fun to her.  Hopefully she will eventually tolerate it for a little longer.

#343 of 365 for Sunday December 9, 2012

My picture below in Saturdays post was taken while the sky was heavy with snow and still snowing.  My photo for today shows how beautiful it is when the sun comes out, the sky turns blue and contrasts with the pretty white snow!

I think this tree is a crab apple tree.  It flowers the most brilliant pink flowers in the spring.  You can click here http://www.joannthrasherproject.blogspot.com/2012/04/107-of-365-for-4-17-12.html if you want to see what it looks like in mid April.  If you follow my blog regularly this tree gets featured often in my Pine River posts.  It is along the walking trail by the river.  As you can see by the picture someone clears the trail so people can still walk on it.  The river you see will freeze over soon and the breeze coming off of it is freezing cold.  I drove the car over and just walked across the lawn to it...... no walking trail for me when it is this cold :)

#342 of 365 for Saturday, December 8, 2012

We got our second snow fall here in Michigan last night.  It was a very wet snow that stuck to the trees and looked so pretty.  We had to go for a drive and find some pretty things to shoot.  Actually it is still snowing in the picture below, you can see the falling snow if you look at the barn.

#341 of 365 for December 7, 2012

Well my picture today is not very creative photographically but it is all I have shot today :)  I will try to be more creative with my photography tomorrow.

My little granddaughter loves denim skirts with pockets.... they are about impossible to find and she is so tiny in the waist it is impossible to get them to fit her in the waist and the length.  So her mom saw the idea of repurposing little jeans to denim skirts and sent me a picture.  At first it was a bit of a challenge but after doing a few it is pretty easy.

Our Christmas gift from our church is a fireplace!
I think I need to put something "Christmasy" in the little shelf.
