We were driving along in the Michigan farmland looking to see what I could find to shoot when we went down an unfamiliar road and happily discovered this little stretch of road that had trees hanging out over the road... in other words the road was lined with trees. That is not very common here. Usually the crops come up to the shoulders of the road but there aren't a lot of trees close to the road. I can not wait to go back and shoot it when the leaves are showing a bit more color.

It was a beautiful, warm, early fall day here in Michigan. The leaves are just starting to turn colors. A lot of the crops have already been harvested. With the crop harvested from this field it left this lone tree just begging to be photographed.

I love barns and Michigan has so many beautiful well kept barns. I like to just drive around on the rural roads and look for pretty scenes to shoot and I am always drawn to the barns.

Yes I just had to revisit the sweet peas today. I kept thinking about how I wanted them to look and this is much closer. I think maybe I can let them rest now. I have several more shots that are a little different and I will try to get them on my regular blog in the next day or so. I have let it get oh so far behind.

Well those little wild sweet peas were calling me again this morning. They are so soft and delicate looking, weaving their way among the weeds and goldenrod at the edge of a cornfield, along a dirt road. I have gone at different times of the day and it is always somewhat windy.... so I stand there waiting for that moment when there is the least movement, to snap my shutter. I sure hope you aren't tired of seeing them. I still don't quiet have their beauty captured so they lure me back time and again.... each time I am hoping to capture them better.

Well I went back and tried macro shots of the sweet peas but I wasn't very happy with them..... may try again tomorrow.

We were at the park and just about to pull out to go to another park to watch the sun set over Pine River when a van pulls in with this boat. I told DH I just had to shoot this. I had just been looking at the beautiful reflections around the dock and knew he would be a great point of interest in my picture.

As I walked along the pier to a lighthouse and neared the grassy sands of the beach I saw these flip flops and immediately said "that is a picture". It is quiet common for me to say this.... I say it quiet often actually... but the more I thought about the shoes, the more I realized not only did the shoes represent a picture but they also told a story.
I imagined lovers strolling hand in hand on the beach, taking a break from the toil of life and enjoying each other's company. I pictured two people who loved to feel the sand squish beneath their feet, and the waves roll over their feet and splash around their ankles, as they strolled along the beach, just barely in the wake of the waves.
I envisioned two people enjoying all the pleasures of the beach.... the beautiful puffy clouds, the briskness of the wind as it blew through their hair, the rough texture of the sand beneath their feet, the coolness of the sand splashed with water from the waves, the soft dry sand warmed by the the bright sun shining down from heaven, the calls of the sea gulls and the beautiful sounds of the waves splashing ashore. And even now as I think about the scene, it makes me long for and look forward to the next time I can do the same thing :)

Tapioca Pudding
Simple but Delicious
My husband has always loved tapioca pudding. I wasn't crazy about it and rarely ate it. But I decided to learn to make it from scratch. Now I love it.
