I believe this dragon fly was laying eggs.  She stayed in about the same time for a long time and posed so nicely for me.  She was far enough out in the water I had to use my 70-300mm lens.

I saw this little clump of daisies growing on the bank of the Pine River and I just had to shoot them. It looked like an easy shot but they were on a steep bank and I had to lay down to get the shot. I was quiet surprised at how difficult it was to keep my horizon straight while laying on my stomach on a steep bank near the edge of the water.

I have no idea what this little flower is.... I don't think I have seen it before.  I found a cluster of them growing along the road when I went for a walk.

This old log barn always gets my attention.  The grass is tall and blocks my view but I still had to shoot it.

This is my favorite road to walk on. I love to stroll along and take in the beauty of the mountains, trees, wild flowers and green fields.  I love the feeling of being surrounded by the mountains, it doesn't matter which direction you look from here, you see mountains.

I love this view!  This is the view of the fields and mountains from my mother in law's front porch.

# 158 of 365 for June 7, 2012

A sweet little guy approached me and excitedly shared his treasure with me.  He gently held the little turtle in front of him  for me to take it's picture, as he beamed with pride at his find.  When I reviewed this picture I thought how well it tells the story of a little boy.  Those little dirty fingernails tell of all the things he has experienced today.... like... dirt, mud, putting worms on a fishing pole, picking up rocks, throwing sticks, catching a turtle, learning about nature in such a natural way and just enjoying life in general.  This takes me on a stroll down memory lane.  Happy, joyful, thoughts of the two little boys I raised flood through my mind and I fondly remember all the fun they had exploring and enjoying nature.  Those little boys are long gone now leaving only memories and fine young men standing in their places, but what a blessing they have been and continue to be to my life  :)

When I looked at this little rose bud, just barely open, I thought about how perfect it was as it was opening to share it's beauty, the soft pink color, the dainty perfectly shaped petals and the pleasant scent.

I am so drawn to flower buds.  You can see in this macro how the blooms literally split the sides of the bud to emerge.....  I love being able to capture all the details that we overlook with our eyes.   I am so happy flowers are blooming!  I can't wait to get my hands on some daisies.

Sorry you may be getting bored with my peony bud shots but I am still challenged by them.  I even have some more I took yesterday that I haven't edited yet.

I am still captivated by the peony buds.  they are so beautiful and so delicate when they are first popping out of the bud but it is hard to capture all the beauty I keep thinking of something else to try to get more detail to show in the little ruffled layers of petals.
