Well it is almost midnight and I have had a busy day and haven't snapped a picture all day with my camera.  Good thing there was one piece of this yummy caramel cake and some coffee left :)

Ingredients for home made beef pot pie.

I love to cook and I had fun making beef pot pies but it seemed like it took me forever since I stopped and took a picture of most of the steps..... well not "A" picture actually.... but several pictures.  I think it made the cooking even more fun :)

A sad sight :(
I was at a little picnic area watching the geese when I  noticed this one.  From a distance I thought maybe it had it's foot hung in a rope or something.  I zoomed in only to realize he  had been shot with an arrow and the arrow was still in his leg.  I googled the local police department on my phone and called them, only to learn that the DNR would not help the poor goose.  The man who answered the phone at the police department said the DNR "wanted to let nature run it's course" but the goose had survived this way for 2 or 3 years.  I was shocked and saddened too.  Poor goose has had to carry the arrow around.  If I even thought I could catch it I would try some way to either get the arrow out or at least cut it off near the entry sight.  He finally hobbled around and back into the water to swim away with the arrow sticking out behind him in the water.

I went walking near the river to see if I could find more signs of spring. Very, very few things have budded out. I have no idea what this one is.

DH came home and said he saw the swans in a different place, closer to the road.  We went back for me to take pictures and couldn't find them :)  But I found this little guy.

The other day I saw 3 swans out on the river. They are such graceful, beautiful birds and I would love to shoot them, so I went looking for them today..  They were no where to be found :(  But I did find a couple of strange looking geese.  They were not very keen on posing and squawked a bit then proceeded to swim away.  Mr. Seagull was a little more cooperative but when I tried to move closer he decided to scoot a little farther down the shore.  By then I was freezing as it was about 30 degrees with a real feel temp of 16 due to the wind and I decided the few shots I did get would do for today.  We are supposed to have highs in the 50's next week so I will try again when it is warmer.
Do you know what kind of goose this is?  If you do, tell me in the comments........  pretty please :)

The door of the old abandoned farm house.

Oh, my I am having a terrible time keeping up with my blog lately.  It seems my photography is either feast or famine...either I am not getting to take pictures or I get to go out several times in a row.....  and then I get way behind on editing :)  Oh well,  I am having a blast with it even if I am way behind.
This old abandoned farm caught my attention.  The house is a little saggy, the windows are falling out, vines are covering the door and debris is scattered about........... yet it stands and holds it's place.  No doubt it once sheltered a family as they worked the land.

We were driving around looking for pretty snow scenes when I spotted this trailer of honey bee hives.  A lot of cucumbers are grown in our area and I am guessing the honeybee hives are on a trailer to allow them to be transported easily to different fields... not sure though :)
